A fraud case involving driving license acquisition in Brașov led to a conviction and numerous acquittals, with over a hundred licenses annulled. Two driving instructors devised a scheme to help individuals pass the theoretical exam by providing answers for a fee. Many participants faked residency in Brașov to take the exam. The network operated from 2013 to 2020 and faced legal action in December 2023. Most defendants were acquitted due to lack of legal provisions, while one woman received a prison sentence. Another man was sentenced to five years and six months for related offenses, but his sentence was later reduced. The illegally obtained licenses were annulled at prosecutors' request.
