An outbreak of African swine fever has been confirmed in a commercial farm in Stâlpu, Buzău, leading to the culling of 5,720 pigs. A protection zone of 3 kilometers will be established around the outbreak, with a surveillance zone extending to 10 kilometers. Movement of animals will be restricted, and the farm's activity can only resume after 30 days post-outbreak declaration, following disinfection and monitoring. Local residents must keep animals confined and report any illness immediately. Markets and fairs are prohibited until the situation is resolved, with fines for non-compliance. The disease poses no threat to human health but can significantly impact pig farmers.
