Authorities in Buzău County confirmed an African swine fever outbreak at a farm in Stâlpu, leading to the culling of 5,720 pigs. The Local Disease Control Center has implemented measures to prevent the disease's spread, including restrictions on animal movement and mandatory reporting of any illness. While the disease poses no threat to human health, it significantly impacts pig populations and the livestock sector. Local residents are urged to adhere to biosecurity measures and report any suspicions of illness immediately. Non-compliance may result in fines up to 3,600 lei.
