The new political group, Patriots, which includes members from the National Rally and Vlaams Belang, distanced itself from the investigation, stating that the searches targeted the former group's administrative offices. The investigation focuses on suspicions of fund misappropriation during the 2019-2024 legislative period. The European Parliament confirmed its cooperation with the authorities involved in the investigation.
