Percheziții în România într-un dosar privind eludarea sancțiunilor UE: un utilaj de 1,75 milioane de euro urma să ajungă în Belarus

Police and DIICOT prosecutors conducted 12 searches in Bucharest and surrounding counties regarding violations of EU sanctions. The investigation focuses on a vertical lathe valued at approximately €1.75 million, allegedly prepared for transfer to intermediaries, with the final beneficiary being a Belarusian entity under EU sanctions. From December 2025 to September 2026, several individuals reportedly engaged in commercial activities related to dual-use industrial machinery, which can serve both civilian and military purposes. The investigation also examines modifications made to the machinery to enhance its military capabilities. Authorities have identified attempts to disguise the final beneficiary through third-party companies and continued operations despite export permit rejections. Eight suspects are under criminal investigation for violating international sanctions.
