Percheziții EPPO în România și alte state europene, într-un dosar de 300 de milioane de euro: Peste un milion de telefoane făcute din piese folosite

The European Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating a network that sold over a million refurbished phones as new, causing an estimated loss of 300 million euros to EU consumers. The operation, named "Troja," involved over 160 searches across 19 countries, including Romania, and led to the arrest of seven suspects. The phones were assembled from used parts sourced from Hong Kong and the UAE, then cleaned and packaged as new before being sold online in the EU. Additionally, there are suspicions of tax fraud exceeding 30 million euros related to the sales. The investigation was initiated following a report from OLAF, and around 1,770 law enforcement and tax officials participated in the operation.
