Authorities conducted 12 searches in Bucharest and surrounding counties to investigate violations of international sanctions. The focus is on individuals attempting to export a dual-use industrial machine to Belarus, valued at approximately 1.7 million euros. Investigators found evidence of commercial activities related to the manufacturing and transfer of equipment that could be used for military purposes. The operation involved complex commercial circuits to disguise the final beneficiary and evade export controls. Eight suspects are under criminal investigation for their roles in these activities, with hearings taking place at DIICOT headquarters.
