The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded Boeing a contract exceeding $20 billion to develop the next-generation F/A-XX fighter jet for the Navy, set to replace the F/A-18E Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler by the 2030s. This sixth-generation aircraft will operate alongside the F-35C. Boeing has also been selected for the F-47 program for the Air Force, named in honor of Donald Trump. The company is prepared to manage both projects simultaneously and is establishing a new production facility in Missouri. Northrop Grumman, a competitor for the Navy contract, expressed interest in further details about the selection process.
