He stated that misleading social media videos suggested migrants could stay in Spain, prompting many to attempt the crossing. An investigation indicated that Russian and Israeli networks collaborated with far-right groups to disseminate this disinformation, aiming to criticize Spain's stance on the Ukraine and Gaza conflicts. Sánchez denied allegations of Moroccan authorities facilitating the mass crossing, while over 72,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta, with many being sent back to Morocco, though around 5,000 remain, some seeking asylum.
