„Pe stâncă, un glob pământesc și câteva litere...” Ce ascunde gravura misterioasă a Bunilor Templieri de pe poteca sașilor din Bucegi

A mysterious inscription on a rock along a hiking trail in Bucegi, Romania, has intrigued hikers. The engraving, featuring the initials I.O.G.T. and dated 1912, is linked to the Independent Order of Good Templars, a social organization promoting sobriety and fraternity. Photographer Daniel Morar discovered the symbol while hiking from Râșnov to Cabana Mălăiești, highlighting its historical significance. The Good Templars, founded in the U.S. in 1851, aimed to combat alcohol abuse and foster community support. Their presence in Transylvania grew in the early 20th century, with local lodges established in cities like Brașov and Râșnov. The inscription reflects the group's activities and connections to the region's history.
