On April 29, 1903, a massive rockslide from Turtle Mountain struck the mining town of Frank, Alberta, burying buildings and causing significant casualties. The event remains Canada's deadliest recorded rockslide, with many victims still unrecovered. Despite the disaster, the town of Frank survived, although the community was permanently changed, with some residents leaving due to fears of future slides.
