Patru izvoare publice din municipiul Bistriţa nu au apa potabilă

The local administration of Bistrița announced that water from four public springs is not potable due to high levels of bacteria. Three springs are located within the city, and one in the nearby locality of Unirea. Laboratory tests from the Public Health Directorate revealed the presence of coliform bacteria and E. coli. Warning signs stating "Water is not safe to drink" have been placed at these locations. As of the end of 2025, there were 50 public wells and 12 springs in the county under a usage ban due to water quality issues.
