The scammers would then demand compensation for alleged damages, typically between 4,000 and 10,000 lei. Police began investigating after multiple complaints from victims. Following thorough investigations, the suspects were identified and arrested, with some found attempting to leave the country. Evidence, including cash and mobile phones, was seized during searches. Three suspects are under judicial control while efforts continue to locate the fourth.
