Patru companii europene de telecomunicaţii se aliază pentru serviciile mobile prin satelit • Newsweek România

Four European telecom companies, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefonica, and Vodafone, are collaborating to explore a joint offer for satellite mobile services spectrum. They aim to establish ground infrastructure and essential coordination functions in Europe. The European Commission has proposed a selection process for satellite service providers to use the harmonized 2 GHz frequency band after 2027. This spectrum is crucial for innovative commercial use and security. A third of the 2 GHz band will be allocated for government use, while two-thirds will support commercial services, including Direct-to-Device communications. The initiative aims to enhance the EU's technological sovereignty and communication capabilities.
