Patru barje vor fi scufundate în Dunăre pentru a creşte debitul apei spre Centrala de la Cernavodă • Newsweek România

Four barges will be sunk in the Danube to increase water flow to the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This operation follows the stabilization of water levels after the removal of the Pârjoaia rock. The sinking is scheduled for Wednesday, with two barges loaded on-site and two transported from Galați. Excavators have been deployed to assist in the process. The goal is to redirect part of the Danube's flow to raise water levels by 10-12 cm, crucial for the plant's operation amid low water levels. The Defense Minister confirmed the success of the operation, emphasizing its financial efficiency.
