Romania celebrates 70 years of UNESCO membership, highlighting its commitment to education, science, culture, and heritage. The country has 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including natural and cultural landmarks. Romania also features intangible cultural heritage elements, such as traditional dances and crafts. The Permanent Delegation to UNESCO was established in 1958 to maintain communication with the organization. On this anniversary, Romania reaffirms its dedication to preserving its cultural values.
