Patinoarul Berceni Arena va purta numele lui Doru Tureanu

Berceni Arena will be renamed after the legendary hockey player Doru Tureanu, with a mini-exhibition showcasing his memorabilia. The event coincides with the official launch of the 2026 European Week of Sport, promoting active lifestyles. Tureanu's family expressed their honor in having his name associated with the rink, emphasizing the importance of his legacy in Romanian hockey. The vice mayor hopes children will learn about Tureanu's story and the values of hard work and courage. Tureanu, who passed away in 2014, was a key figure in Romanian ice hockey, representing the country in two Winter Olympics and achieving significant national titles.
