Eli Lilly has received UK market authorization for orforglipron, a GLP-1 class pill for obesity and type 2 diabetes. This makes the UK the first European country to approve it. The pill, already approved in the US, aims to provide a more user-friendly alternative to injectable treatments. The British Medicines Agency will monitor its safety and efficacy. However, it is not yet available through the NHS.
