The Basarab Bridge will reopen to traffic tonight after two months of repairs, as announced by Mayor Ciprian Ciucu. He emphasized that maintenance work will continue to ensure the bridge, neglected for over 15 years, is properly received by early next year. The repairs have included asphalt, waterproofing, and structural fixes, with work conducted in shifts, including weekends. By the end of the year, additional improvements will be made, including replacing rusted fences and soundproof panels, and rehabilitating the tram station. Ciucu assured that all elements will be secured and cleaned to ensure safety and future maintenance.
