The new border crossing point Sighetu Marmației – Bila Țerkva is nearing operational status following the Romanian government's approval of a memorandum to finalize a bilateral agreement with Ukraine. This memorandum is crucial for the traffic of the new bridge over the Tisza River, ensuring the existing crossing remains open 24/7 and allowing pedestrian access at the new point. The bridge, valued at over 50 million euros, is 264 meters long and designed to last 100 years. Authorities aim to finalize bureaucratic procedures by September 1, enhancing mobility and economic cooperation between Romania and Ukraine.
