The Slovenian Parliament has lifted the immunity of former Prime Minister Robert Golob amid an investigation into alleged influence peddling. Golob is accused of improperly intervening in police personnel appointments after taking office in 2022. All 75 present parliamentarians, including Golob, voted against granting parliamentary immunity, allowing legal proceedings to continue. Golob has expressed his willingness to expedite the investigation and not invoke his immunity.
