Parlamentul European a aprobat noi limite pentru expunerea angajaților la substanțe periculoase la locul de muncă
The European Parliament has approved new regulations to protect workers from hazardous substances, aiming to prevent around 1,700 lung cancer cases and 19,000 other illnesses over the next 40 years. The updated directive sets stricter exposure limits for various chemicals, including cobalt and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, particularly affecting workers in battery production, metallurgy, and the chemical industry. Employers are required to provide adequate personal protective equipment and ensure regular breaks for workers. The regulations also focus on emergency service workers exposed to complex hazardous mixtures. This sixth update of the directive reflects the latest scientific data on health risks for employees.
