Parlamentul de la Kiev a adoptat legea care permite minorităților din Ucraina să folosească limba maternă în școli
Ukraine's parliament has passed a law enhancing linguistic rights for national minorities, following a bilateral agreement with Hungary. This legislation aims to remove a significant political barrier to Ukraine's EU accession, as Hungary lifted its veto, allowing the EU to open new negotiation clusters. The law provides guarantees for schools with minority language instruction, enabling them to gain official status and allowing students to use their native language in communication and official documents. However, the law only applies to EU official languages, excluding Russian, reflecting Ukraine's strategy against historical Russification and ongoing military aggression from Moscow.
