The Izvor Park in Bucharest may be renamed after Nadia Comăneci, proposed by the Romanian Olympic Committee to celebrate her historic Olympic achievement. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu confirmed he received the proposal and will present it to the city council. He emphasized that the initiative is not his own and criticized the use of athletes' achievements for political purposes. The council will review the name change.
