This investigation began in July 2026 after an association filed numerous grievances about the election's cancellation. The Prosecutor's Office clarified that this step is a necessary procedural action under criminal procedure law. The association ALES claims that the General Prosecutor's Office has intentionally delayed the investigation by not registering individual complaints as criminal cases. They accuse the prosecutors of various offenses, including abuse of office and negligence.
