The deal, valued at around $110 billion, is set to finalize on October 6, following court approval. Ellison emphasized that the new name aims to maintain the distinct identities of both studios while creating a unique identity for the merged entity. He described Skydance as a company focused on creativity and ambitious storytelling. Leadership will be shared between Ellison and Ynon Kreiz, with Ellison as CEO and Kreiz as co-CEO. The merger faced legal challenges from 12 U.S. states but has received judicial approval to proceed.
