Papa Leon al XIV-lea, diagnosticat cu cancer pulmonar. Medicii i-au îndepărtat o parte din plămân
Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer following surgery to remove the lower lobe of his right lung. The Vatican confirmed the diagnosis and stated that the operation was successful without complications. The histological examination during the surgery confirmed the presence of pulmonary adenocarcinoma, which was suspected prior to the procedure. The Pope, aged 71, spent about three hours in the operating room, with the surgery itself lasting around 90 minutes. After the operation, he regained consciousness normally and was moved back to his room at Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
