Pope Leon XIV began his journey on the Champs-Elysées, greeted by a large crowd, heading to a grand liturgy at Place de la Concorde. The Pope blessed babies and interacted with the faithful, many of whom arrived early to see him. The religious service, expected to attract around 600,000 attendees, will be broadcast on large screens. Political figures, including presidential candidates, were present, while President Macron was represented by his wife. After the mass, the Pope will travel to Lourdes as part of his visit to France.
