Papa Leon al XIV-lea a fost diagnosticat cu cancer pulmonar. În ce stare se află Suveranul Pontif după intervenția chirurgicală
Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer following surgery at Gemelli Hospital in Rome. The procedure was initially for the removal of suspicious nodules, which were confirmed to be cancerous during the operation. The surgical team removed the entire lower lobe of the right lung to ensure all cancerous cells were eliminated. Subsequent examination revealed the presence of adenocarcinoma, a common type of lung cancer. Oncologists believe the Pope has a high chance of complete recovery due to the early detection of the tumor. The 71-year-old Pope addressed supporters in St. Peter's Square, informing them about the discovery of the lung nodule and the recommendation for its removal. He is currently recovering in a special suite at the hospital, known for its association with the Papacy.
