The Romanian government has launched the 'Diaspora Investeste Acasă' program, offering loans and grants to Romanians abroad who want to start businesses in Romania. Eligible applicants can receive up to 200,000 euros in grants, covering 60% of their investment loans. The program aims to reintegrate the diaspora economically and leverage their skills and experience. It is set to run from 2026 to 2029 with a total budget of 100 million euros. Specific eligibility criteria apply, including the requirement for businesses to be newly established and for owners to have experience in their field.
