Pâinea veche de 1.300 de ani care i-a surprins pe arheologi. Mesajul descoperit pe ea are o semnificație aparte
Five ancient loaves, around 1,300 years old, were found in southern Turkey, revealing insights into Byzantine Christian beliefs. One loaf features a Greek inscription expressing gratitude to Jesus and an unusual depiction of Him as a sower. This discovery at the Topraktepe archaeological site, linked to the ancient city of Eirenopolis, showcases well-preserved artifacts that reflect the cultural and religious practices of the time. The loaves may have been used in Christian rituals, with some bearing cross-shaped imprints. Their carbonized state allows researchers to study Byzantine food decoration techniques and the intertwining of daily life and faith in early medieval Anatolia.
