The quake occurred at 1:04 AM at a depth of 2 km, initially reported as 4.8 by the National Geographic Institute of Spain. Residents across Andalusia felt the tremor, with reports of falling objects and structural damage in various municipalities. A second quake of 2.6 magnitude followed shortly after in Gójar.
