PADROM: În România există încă 7,5 milioane de locuinţe neasigurate
The Pool for Natural Disaster Insurance (PADROM) has reached 2.5 million active policies, the highest since its establishment, yet 7.5 million homes in Romania remain uninsured. Nicoleta Radu, PADROM's general director, emphasized the need for better preparedness against disasters, especially with the upcoming 50th anniversary of the 1977 earthquake. She highlighted that preparation requires collaboration among authorities, insurance companies, and citizens. Sorin Mititelu from the Financial Supervisory Authority noted the significant insured value of 232 billion lei, indicating the responsibility of PADROM and insurance companies in managing risks. PADROM operates under the law to provide mandatory home insurance covering earthquakes, floods, and landslides.
