Iranian authorities have initiated legal actions against organizers of a 10-kilometer race in Tehran where women participated without wearing the mandatory hijab. The event, named "Tehrun," took place in Velayat Park, with videos showing women running without head coverings, defying strict dress codes. A spokesperson for the Interior Ministry emphasized that such events should not coincide with state demonstrations. Following the release of these images, prosecutors launched an official investigation, stating that religious and legal requirements were not adhered to. Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, women in Iran have been required to wear hijabs in public, but violations have become increasingly common, especially after the protests triggered by Mahsa Amini's death in custody.
