Organizația Salvați Copiii cere eliminarea examenelor proprii de admitere la liceu: „Vor crește costurile ascunse și se va adânci inechitatea din educație”
Save the Children Romania urges the Ministry of Education to abolish the option for high schools to conduct their own admission exams, citing increased educational inequities and financial burdens on families. A recent study shows that a significant percentage of students already take private tutoring, with costs rising sharply. The organization warns that separate exams will exacerbate reliance on paid tutoring, disadvantaging students from low-income backgrounds. They criticize the lack of impact assessment accompanying the proposal and highlight the potential negative effects on students' mental health due to increased academic pressure. Save the Children calls for maintaining a centralized admission system and delaying any changes until a thorough impact study is conducted.
