In Brașov, a large mound of earth left by former communist factories is being relocated to create a park. Excavators have already removed hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of industrial waste, with plans for a green space funded by European funds costing 67 million lei. The project involves moving 700,000 cubic meters of non-hazardous waste, with 570,000 already relocated. The site, which served as a waste dump since 1940, will feature a 50 cm layer of soil, trees, grass, and pathways, requiring complex earthworks for safety. Authorities aim to complete the park by next year.
