In 1904, the first school for oil drillers and refiners was established in Câmpina, Romania, contributing to the development of the oil industry. This institution trained specialists in oil extraction and refining, enhancing Romania's international reputation in this field. Over time, it evolved into part of the local technical education system, continuing the tradition of technical and energy profiles through institutions like the Câmpina Technological High School. The school operated in a building known as 'Casa cu grifoni', donated by businessman Gheorghe Ștefănescu.
