Oradea | Iluminatul public pornește cu o oră mai târziu
The public lighting in Oradea will continue to turn on an hour later, likely until the new school year begins. Mayor Florin Birta stated that this measure, aimed at reducing energy consumption, will remain in effect for about a week despite local criticism. The decision, effective since August 4, has been met with opposition from some local councilors who argue it affects residents' safety. Birta explained that the measure is necessary due to the national energy situation, as Romania imports electricity at high prices during peak hours. He emphasized the importance of caution for drivers and pedestrians until the lighting returns to normal after the school year starts.
