Opt tuneluri ale căii ferate din Defileul Jiului vor fi modernizate. Bumbești–Livezeni, magistrala săpată în stâncă

Eight tunnels on the Bumbești–Livezeni railway in the Jiului Defileu will undergo modernization, enhancing safety and efficiency. The project, launched in February 2025, aims to rehabilitate these tunnels along with two bridges and four culverts, with an estimated cost of 148 million lei. The tunnels, totaling 2,066 meters in length, are crucial for improving rail traffic safety and reducing operational risks. The railway, built in the early 20th century, connects Hunedoara and Gorj counties, featuring over 30 tunnels and numerous bridges.
