The Romanian Senate has approved a legislative proposal requiring ATM operators to allow users to withdraw customized amounts of cash. The proposal received 96 votes in favor, one against, and six abstentions. It mandates that payment service providers must offer an option for personalized cash withdrawals, applicable to all card users in Romania. Non-compliance will result in fines ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 lei. The initiative aims to ensure equal treatment for card users and enhance consumer protection in financial services. The proposal will be debated in the Chamber of Deputies, which is the decision-making body in this case.
