Operaţiunea pentru salvarea Centralei Cernavodă: Două barje vor fi scufundate joi, iar alte două - vineri. "Apa scade şi mai rapid"
The Deputy General Director of the National Administration 'Apele Române', Sorin Rîndașu, outlined the operation to sink barges in the Danube to ensure the continued operation of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. Four barges will be submerged over two days, with two on Thursday and two on Friday. The operation aims to mitigate the effects of a rapid decrease in water levels, which is expected to drop by 4 cm per day. The placement of the barges has been carefully planned, and additional measures, including the potential involvement of divers, are in place to ensure safety. The current water flow is around 300 cubic meters per second at Cernavodă, and ongoing dredging efforts are intended to maintain operational capacity for the plant.
