Operațiunea „Big Bang”: NASA prelungește misiunea Voyager 2
NASA has successfully extended the lifespan of Voyager 2 through energy-efficient modifications, potentially allowing for one to two more years of scientific observations. Following this success, a similar operation is planned for Voyager 1. Both spacecraft, launched in 1977, continue to send data from interstellar space, having surpassed the heliosphere. The modifications involved replacing energy-consuming systems with more efficient ones, ensuring the remaining scientific instruments can operate longer. NASA's efforts aim to maximize the valuable data from these historic missions.
