A large-scale operation by DIICOT targeted a drug trafficking network that imported hundreds of kilograms of drugs from Spain. The investigation involved police cooperation from four other countries. Multiple searches were conducted across Romania, revealing a pyramid-style organized crime group that transported drugs using hidden compartments in trucks. The group had connections with Albanian drug traffickers and facilitated significant drug shipments across Europe. The operation led to the seizure of approximately 1,719 kg of drugs, valued at around 25 million euros. The group's leader was identified as a high-value target by EUROPOL due to the serious threat posed by their activities.
