OpenAI has launched GPT-6 Astra, its latest AI model, claiming it to be the most intelligent in the world, aiming to regain its competitive edge against Anthropic. This model, succeeding GPT-5.6 Sol, boasts improvements in speed, accuracy, and the ability to perform complex tasks with minimal human intervention. Astra excels in various fields, significantly reducing task completion times. For instance, finding a pet sitter is cut from 30 minutes to about 5 minutes, while job searching drops from five hours to under three minutes. OpenAI's president described Astra as a generational leap towards general artificial intelligence, amid increasing competition and safety concerns regarding AI agents. Access to Astra will be gradually rolled out, starting with select cybersecurity companies.
