ONU se teme de o resurgenţă a HIV din cauza reducerii finanţării în lupta împotriva SIDA / Statele Unite şi-au redus drastic bugetul pentru ajutor internaţional

International funding for the fight against HIV has decreased by nearly 20% last year, according to a UN warning at the International AIDS Conference in Rio de Janeiro. UNAIDS officials stated that the global response to HIV is 'completely stalled' due to this significant funding drop. The U.S. has drastically cut its international aid budget, impacting several European countries as well. Despite these reductions, the U.S. still provides 74% of public funding for HIV efforts. Many developing countries rely heavily on official development assistance for their HIV response, and experts caution that it is too early to fully assess the impact of funding cuts.
