ONU avertizează că țările în curs de dezvoltare se prăbușesc sub greutatea dobânzilor pentru datoria publică - Economica.net
The rising public debt in developing countries is straining budgets and hindering development priorities like health and education, according to UNCTAD. Global public debt reached $111 trillion in 2025, with developing nations facing higher borrowing costs. Interest payments on public debt in these countries are projected to rise significantly, diverting funds from essential public investments. UNCTAD suggests reducing the borrowing cost gap with developed economies could save developing nations $500 billion annually. The report highlights that external loans are not providing additional resources for development, increasing dependency on domestic borrowing. UNCTAD calls for reversing the decline in development assistance and enhancing support for national capacity building.
