In the first half of 2026, the number of companies and authorized individuals entering insolvency reached 3,855, marking a 12.36% increase from 2025. Bucharest recorded the highest number of insolvencies, with 725 cases. Other notable regions included Bihor, Cluj, Timiș, Ilfov, and Prahova, with varying trends in insolvency rates. June alone saw 709 new insolvencies, predominantly in the wholesale and retail trade sector, which experienced a significant rise compared to the previous year.
