In the first eight months of 2026, 57,272 companies were deregistered in Romania, marking a 1.31% increase compared to the previous year. The highest number of deregistrations occurred in Bucharest, followed by Cluj and Timiș counties. Conversely, Ialomița recorded the fewest deregistrations. Significant increases were noted in Călărași, Gorj, and Galați, while Olt and Mehedinți saw the largest decreases. The wholesale and retail trade sector had the highest number of deregistrations, followed by construction and professional activities.
