OMV Petrom avansează lucrările la unitatea SAF HVO de la Petrobrazi

OMV Petrom is progressing with the construction of a new SAF HVO sustainable fuel production unit at Petrobrazi, with investments totaling 560 million euros. The facility will have an annual capacity of 250,000 tons, producing sustainable aviation fuel and diesel from renewable sources. The project aims to reduce emissions in hard-to-electrify sectors like aviation and heavy transport. Construction began in 2025, with the unit expected to be operational by 2028. Additionally, the company is developing green hydrogen production capabilities at Petrobrazi, with investments of around 190 million euros for two electrolyzers.
