OMV Petrom has signed a contract for a battery energy storage system at its Ișalnița solar park, aiming to enhance renewable energy production and reduce pressure on the national grid. The project, in collaboration with Simtel Team, will feature a 20 MW capacity and 40 MWh storage, expected to be completed in about seven months. This system will store excess energy generated during high production periods for later use, improving grid stability and efficiency. OMV Petrom continues to strengthen its electricity portfolio, which includes various renewable projects and a significant gas-fired power plant.
